This season will end
Long day turned to endless night
I need focus NOW

July evening

At eight p.m.
my puppy dog put
herself to bed
body curled into itself
like winter comes tomorrow
toes to nose
sighing deeply

She misses our favorite person

I scribble verse
to tough it out
until at least
nine thirty

Six A.M.

I wake up early
In the summer fresh air I
Walk breathe walk live walk

La Bohème

Notes rise to ceiling
Vibrations pulse through hot air
I quiver I sigh

Monday, July 19, 2010

Eight a.m. downtown
The park comes alive like spring
Everyone blooms

Double Feature

When I'm home at last
The couch beckons, I succumb
Tomorrow I'll work

Story of my heart

*novel written by Diane Glancy

Awake in the Middle of the Night

A repeating dream
A nightmare that I always
Forget until POW!

Ice cream on porch swing
Dog stares up, licking her chops

Fifth of July

Large pile of yard waste
Twelve gallons of sweat later
Fourteen bags at curb

Friday, July 02, 2010

No peace until the
Dusting, sweeping, scrubbing work
Is finished and done

Fresh Air

It's grown cool again
Like October in July
Open windows, breathe
